Estimated study time: 9 minutes
Learning objective: Prevent common portfolio problems and create a realistic first-month plan.
| Common difficulty | Prevention |
|---|---|
| Leaving evidence until late. | Use a weekly routine and monthly review. |
| Writing essays instead of evidence. | Use varied workplace artefacts with context and annotation. |
| Weak SoP mapping. | Write clear justifications and point to exact evidence. |
| Poor anonymisation. | Use a confidentiality checklist before upload. |
| Ignoring feedback. | Track actions, revisions and re-review dates. |
| Unable to explain submitted work. | Keep evidence authentic and practise discussion. |
First 30 days
- Week 1: read the module descriptors and create the folder structure and tracker.
- Week 2: agree the first mandatory and candidate-choice evidence targets with the trainer.
- Week 3: draft or annotate at least two evidence items.
- Week 4: obtain feedback, revise the drafts and confirm the next month’s priorities.
By day 30, aim to have an organised evidence system, a regular weekly session, at least two developed drafts, a booked progress meeting and a clear list of training opportunities needed. The exact pace may vary, but the plan should create observable progress.
Learner activity
Complete the 30-day plan in the workbook with actions, dates, support required and evidence of completion.
