Estimated study time: 8 minutes
Learning objective: Identify the two portfolio sections and ten modules in Version 5.0.
Version 5.0 is standards-based and completed digitally through OneFile. It is organised into two broad sections containing ten modules. The sections should not be treated as isolated subjects: professional conduct is demonstrated throughout scientific and technical practice, while professional practice depends on communication, responsibility and safe data handling.
| Section 1: Professional Conduct | Section 2: Professional Practice |
|---|---|
| 1. Personal Responsibility and Development | 1. Professional Knowledge |
| 2. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion | 2. Health and Safety and Wellbeing |
| 3. Communication | 3. Quality |
| 4. Patient Records and Data Handling | 4. Performing Standard Investigations |
| 5. Professional Relationships | 5. Research and Development |
Each module has defined requirements and mapped HCPC Standards of Proficiency. Before selecting candidate-choice evidence, read the relevant module descriptor and identify exactly what remains to be demonstrated after the mandatory evidence.
Learner activity
Choose two modules and note one routine workplace activity that could potentially support each. Do not finalise the evidence choice until you have checked the module descriptor.
Key points
- There are two sections and ten modules.
- Evidence must meet the requirements of the relevant module.
- Professional conduct and scientific practice frequently overlap.
