Estimated study time: 7 minutes

Learning objective: Prepare for and document a productive portfolio progress meeting.

Before the meeting During the meeting After the meeting
Update the evidence tracker. Review module gaps and current priorities. Record agreed actions and deadlines.
Bring specific questions. Check proposed evidence and SoP mapping. Update the tracker and calendar.
Upload or organise draft material. Discuss feedback and training opportunities. Confirm who will review each item.

A productive meeting should end with named actions, owners and dates. Candidates should take responsibility for preparation and bring a concise summary of progress. Trainers should be able to see what is complete, what is awaiting review, where standards remain uncovered and which workplace opportunities are needed.

Use the workbook meeting agenda and retain a brief action record. This prevents the same questions being revisited without progress.

Learner activity

Prepare the next meeting agenda with three sections: progress since the last meeting, decisions required and actions for the next month.

Key points

  • Candidates should arrive prepared.
  • Review gaps, not only completed work.
  • Record actions, owners and dates.
