LabPathPro is independent of the NHS, universities, professional bodies and other organisations mentioned on the website. Personal information submitted to LabPathPro is not submitted to the NHS or the website operator’s employer.

This policy applies to personal information processed through LabPathPro’s website, contact forms, comments, email subscriptions and related online services. It does not govern the privacy practices of external websites or services that you visit through a link from LabPathPro.

5. Contact forms and email enquiries
When you use a contact form or email LabPathPro, we use the information you provide to understand and respond to your enquiry, maintain an appropriate record of the communication and protect the website from spam or misuse.
Do not use the contact form for urgent medical concerns, personal diagnosis, patient information or confidential workplace matters. LabPathPro provides educational information and is not a clinical service.
6. Comments
If comments are enabled and you leave a comment, the comment and your chosen display name may be visible publicly. Your email address will not normally be displayed. The website may also collect your IP address and browser information to support moderation, security and spam detection.
If the Gravatar service is enabled, an anonymised value created from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you use that service. After a comment is approved, a Gravatar profile image may be visible beside it. You can read the Automattic privacy notice.
Please do not include personal medical information, patient details, confidential laboratory information or information about another identifiable person in a public comment.
7. Email subscriptions and updates
If you subscribe to LabPathPro updates, we use your email address and subscription preferences to send the content you requested. We may also process delivery, opening and link-selection information where the mailing service provides it and you have given any consent required.
You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting contact@labpathpro.com. LabPathPro does not sell subscriber lists.
8. Google Analytics
Where enabled, LabPathPro uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the website. Google Analytics may process information such as pages visited, interactions, device and browser information, approximate location and referral source. Reports supplied to LabPathPro are used to assess website performance and improve educational content.
Google Analytics is treated as a non-essential service and is activated only in accordance with the visitor’s consent choices where consent is required. LabPathPro does not use Analytics reports to identify individual visitors and does not send names, email addresses, contact-form contents or patient information to Google Analytics.

9. Google AdSense and online advertising
LabPathPro may display advertising supplied through Google AdSense. Where AdSense is active:
- third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve adverts based on a visitor’s previous visits to LabPathPro or other websites;
- Google’s advertising technologies may allow Google and its partners to select, limit and measure adverts based on visits to LabPathPro and other online services;
- Google and other approved advertising providers may place or read cookies, or use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers, because advertising is being served on the website; and
- other advertising vendors or networks may be involved if they are enabled in LabPathPro’s advertising settings. The current providers and their purposes will be shown through the consent-management platform or linked vendor list.

Both personalised and non-personalised advertising can involve limited storage or access technologies for purposes such as security, fraud prevention, frequency control and aggregated reporting. LabPathPro uses a consent-management platform to obtain and communicate the choices required for United Kingdom visitors.
LabPathPro does not provide Google with names, email addresses, contact-form contents, comments or patient information for advertising personalisation. LabPathPro does not use special-category personal information or information about an individual’s health to create advertising audiences.
10. Cookies and similar technologies

LabPathPro may use:

11. Embedded YouTube and social-media content
LabPathPro may embed videos, posts or feeds supplied by third parties such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or X. Embedded content can behave as though you visited the provider’s own website. The provider may receive your IP address and device information, learn that you visited the LabPathPro page, set or read cookies, and record your interaction with the embedded item. If you are logged in to that provider, it may link the interaction to your account.
Where required, embedded content is held back until the relevant consent has been given. If you do not consent, a placeholder or external link may be shown instead. When available and appropriate, LabPathPro may use privacy-enhanced embedding options.

12. Who may receive personal information
LabPathPro may share only the information necessary with:
- website-hosting, content-delivery, backup and technical-support providers;
- WordPress-related form, comment, security, anti-spam and consent-management service providers;
- email and newsletter service providers;
- Google, where Google Analytics, YouTube, AdSense or another disclosed Google service is enabled;
- social-media providers when their embedded content is enabled or you follow an external link;
- professional advisers, insurers or contractors where reasonably necessary; and
- courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
Service providers acting on LabPathPro’s instructions are expected to use personal information only for the agreed purpose and to protect it appropriately. Some third parties, including Google and social-media providers, may act as separate controllers for parts of their processing. Their own privacy notices explain those activities.
LabPathPro does not sell or rent personal information.
13. International data transfers
Some providers used by LabPathPro are based outside the United Kingdom or use infrastructure in other countries, including the United States. This means personal information may be transferred outside the United Kingdom.
Where a restricted international transfer occurs, LabPathPro takes reasonable steps to use providers and arrangements that protect the information in accordance with United Kingdom law. 14. How long we retain information
LabPathPro keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, security and accountability requirements. The normal retention schedule is:

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please send only the information needed for your enquiry and do not submit patient-identifiable or confidential workplace information.

LabPathPro does not make decisions about visitors that are based solely on automated processing and that produce legal or similarly significant effects. 18. Children’s privacy
LabPathPro provides general educational content that may be useful to students, but it is not designed to collect personal information from children under 13. A child under 13 should not submit a comment, form or subscription request without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
